What does lumen count mean?
Lumen is the unit that indicates the luminous intensity of a lamp. So the number of lumens per watt (LM/W) says something about the energy efficiency of the lamp.
See below the comparison of different types of lamps:
- Bulb 15 LM/W
- Halogen 20 LM/W
- Energy-saving lamp 60 LM/W
- Led lamp 90 - 210 LM/W
What do the abbreviations mean: Single collar, Dual White, RGB, RGBW, RGB+CCT?
Single collar / Dual White: Refers to a type of light where the color temperatures can be adjusted. So in the case of dual white, you can vary between cold and warm white.
RGB: Stands for the colors Red, Green and Blue. These primary colors can be mixed, varying up to 16 million colors.
RGBW: This is the same as RGB but additionally contains warm white light.
RGB+CCT: This is the same as RGBW but can additionally provide cold light.
What does color temperature mean?
The color temperature indicates the color of light emitted by the lamp and is given in Kelvin. The lower the Kelvin number, the warmer the color temperature.
Most common are:
- 2700 Kelvin - Very warm white light - Home / hospitality environments
- 3000 Kelvin - Warm white light - Home/office areas where no work is being done
- 4000 Kelvin - Cool white light - Offices, warehouses, etc.
